Round Table Discussion: «In Memory of the Fallen, Be Worthy!

As part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of World War II, the Foreign Languages Department at the Institute of Medicine of RUDN University organized an online round table titled «In Memory of the Fallen, Be Worthy!» on May 7, 2025. This event commemorated the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The round table gathered 48 participants and utilized working languages including English, German, Russian, and French. The primary goal of the event was to cultivate civic-patriotic, sociocultural, communicative, and foreign language competencies among students of the Medical Institute.

Key objectives included fostering patriotic education, enhancing information comparison skills, and developing critical thinking. The practical significance of the event lay in nurturing research skills and providing experience in presenting research findings. Participants discussed themes of courage, patriotism, and love for their homeland.

The implementation of the event featured 18 presentations delivered in both group and individual formats, addressing the 80th anniversary of Victory in various languages, along with a video clip created by students and faculty in English.

As a result, participants developed civic-patriotic, sociocultural, and communicative competencies related to youth patriotic education, thereby honoring the legacy of those who fought and sacrificed during the war.
